*suporte/lens mount xFX35!

One of those shots where if I managed to take two steps to the left the composition would have been perfect, unfortunately I was standing right of the edge of the loch as it was. I think it looks good in black and white to emphasise the mist and contrast with the trees in the distance.

Mt. Robson is called the Monarch of the Canadian Rockies, and for good reason. Not only is it the highest Canadian peak in the range, at 12,997 feet, but it is a world-class climbing challenge. Mountain climbers admire and respect this mountain. It has earned another name: "The Great White Fright," as only 10% of climbers reach the top.

This is one of the first views of this huge mountain as one approaches from the west on the Yellowhead Highway.

A couple other images in comments for comparison.

A baseball settles into the stitched webbing of a leather ball glove as a catch is made. Unfortunately, I forgot to clean up the baseball before the shot, so you see a bit of dirt smudge on it... Oh well, I kinda like 'em that way, as it shows that they've been used. :-)

Done for Macro Mondays: Stitch theme

An interesting aside about stitches: When Major League Baseball's Chicago Cubs won the World Series earlier this month, it had been 108 years since they last won the championship. A baseball: it has 108 stitches. Coincidence? I hope so, because I don't have time to wait another 108 years for the next championship... :-)

des pas sur la neige Debussy ( by Michelangeli )

The sixth of Claude Debussy's first set of preludes for piano evokes a stark, glacial landscape of resigned sadness and solitude.

Lipan Point on the south rim of the Grand Canyon is one of the most evocative and meditative lookouts over the Colorado. I was shooting several photos of the sunset when this guy, probably a native, sat on the rock in front of me offering himself as unintentional and occasional model for a slightly different shot than the usual ones. A little human touch in presence of this huge, vast and wild place.

Thanks for your visit, invites, comments and faves !!!

Wish you a great weekend !!!

It was windy, wet and cold, but me and my doggie went out for a walk on the beach. I'm so happy we did!

Looks like there was a second one forming on the left, but unfortunately it did not.

I do not know how it ended. But chances are, that the cat did get what the cat wanted.

Addendum (2021) I miss these moments, I know, this situation is going to be over, but nevertheless...

South Mountain Reservation – The Rahway River which runs through the reservation doesn’t have much water flow since there hasn’t been much rainfall. That’s ok, what you end up with is a peaceful inviting stream. The weather has also been unseasonably warm. That’s ok too. It just keeps the autumn foliage around a bit longer. What’s also ok is that together those things just make us photographers just a bit happier. Enjoying Autumn! :)))

Color Efex's Black and white Solarizarion + light toning

The original image was taken in the afternoon. The buildings in the background were blurry (on purpose, I was aware that the train was moving), and the background was dark red with greenish areas. Rails were brown and fuzzy.

My first attempt was to turn it to black and white. Rails were nicer but building were quite white and blurry.

I accidentally applied Solarization to the color image and the result was quite nice. It looks very dramatic, like Film Noir. Solarization provides a much nicer mysterious background and floods rails and seat with light.

Thanks so much all My Flickr Friends The Comments & Faves..... ;-)

'Het Speulderbos' is called ' the forest of the dancing trees'. The forest is not just mysterious, it is also very rare. It's a paradise for birds (of prey), deer, badgers and wild boars.

Orange abounds on an enchanted autumn evening in October.

Hvidbjerg Strand in Spring, Jylland, Denmark

Sonnenberg Gardens, also known as Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion State Historic Park, Canandaigua, New York, USA, at the North end of Canandaigua Lake, in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. The house and gardens are open to the public every day, May through October.

The property was once the summer home of Frederick Ferris Thompson, a prominent banker in New York City, and his wife Mary Clark Thompson, whose father, Myron Holley Clark, was Governor of New York State in 1855. The Clark family was from Canandaigua, NY. Mr. & Mrs. Thompson's main home was in NYC in a large townhouse on Madison Avenue. The Thompsons purchased the Sonnenberg property in 1863, keeping the name, Sonnenberg (which means "sunny hill" in German). In 1887, they replaced the original farmhouse with a forty-room Queen Anne style mansion. The property also had a 100-acre farm to the east. Sonnenberg's gardens were designed and built between 1902–1919, and originally consisted of nine gardens in a variety of styles.
